Inside

Huber @ Night

Peter Huber Kältemaschinenbau, was established in 1968 by Peter Huber. Since 1984 it has been a limited company and is completely owned by the Huber Family.

Peter Huber had several reasons to celebrate during his jubilee year in 2001:

  • 33 Years of Huber Refrigeration Machines

  • 22 Years of controllers featuring "Plug & Play" Technology

  • 11 Years of Unistats featuring Tango Technology

Training the next generation of engineers, technicians and craftsmen has always been a priority to the Huber company. A training program active in all departments of the factory boasts 24 indentured apprentices in several trades.

Starting in 1968, Peter Huber can state with pride that his company has been responsible for training over 60 refrigeration technicians through this program. This figure increases when we count electricians, CAD operators and office staff.

Today more than 60,000 Huber systems are in operation worldwide. 70% of our sales went to the export market.

In 1986 the company received the Dr.-Rudolf-Eberle-Award for the "Rotostat". Please use this link to read about the Rotostat and why Huber was honoured with this award.

1992 saw the launch of the Unistat and Tango Technology. The Unistat range has grown to dominate our industry and remains un-equalled. Please use this link to read more about it.

Every company has it's landmarks. Products and innovations that set it apart from their competitors. Some of these are listed below, others will follow as our engineers continue to react to the demands of the market place and the constraints of new regulations.

Please note that we use the word "First" only if we are sure that we were! If you know differently, please tell us and we will retract the claim!

Key innovations at a glance:

  • 1976 Ministat and the Unistat cc set a Huber precedent for small and powerful thermostats.
  • 1979 The introduction of stainless steel casing and "Plug & Play" Technology introduced into the controllers. Maximum flexibility, minimum effort!
  • 1981 First automatic load matching re-circulating chillers "Intelligent Chillers".
  • 1985 Rotostat working platform for rotary evaporators wins the "Rudolf Eberle" Innovation Award.
  • 1991 First to convert to non-CFC refrigerants s
  • 1992 Unistat Tango launched! First and still only hydraulically sealed circulator with low internal volume for highly responsive dynamic control.
  • 1994 First to convert to non-HCFC refrigerants, 6 years before the legal phase out.
  • 1994 Compatible Control (CC) Extension of the "Plug & Play" concept.
  • 1994 First air and water cooled bath circulator in the world, CC245. Water-cooled in the summer and air-cooled in the winter.
  • 1998 Polystats New range of simple units for low demand applications with "Plug & Play" Technology.
  • 2000 DW-Therm unique thermal fluid for Unistats. Temperature range of -90°C to 200°C
  • 2001 Unistat CC400 High Temperature circulator up to 400°C.
  • 2002 Unichiller extremely compact and powerful chillers with refrigeration power from 0,6kW to 100kW.
  • 2002 Production of "CoolNet" stepper motor controlled expansion valves.
  • 2003 Use of the Polystat controller featuring Plug and Play technology is extended to ALL Huber units except the Unistats.
